This notice explains the cookies and similar tools on maalin.app, our website. It doesn’t cover the Maalin app: the app has no advertising or tracking code from other companies, and nothing you put into the app is ever used for advertising. The app is covered by our Privacy Policy.
We never use what you put into the Maalin app for advertising.
Who we are
maalin.app is run by Maalin Technologies Ltd (“Maalin”, “we”, “us”), a company being registered in England and Wales (its company number and registered office will be added here once registration completes), with its head office in Nairobi, Kenya. Contact: company@maalin.app.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Similar tools, such as pixels and tags, send information about your visit to the company that made them. In this notice, “cookies” covers all of these.
Your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks what you allow. Until you choose, we use only strictly necessary cookies. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category. “Reject all” is as easy as “Accept all”, and nothing is switched on in advance.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as “Reject all”.
We keep your choice for 6 months, then ask again. We also ask again if we add a tool or a new purpose.
The three categories
1. Strictly necessary (always on)
These keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. You can’t switch them off here, but you can block them in your browser.

We also count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It stores nothing in your browser and doesn’t use your IP address to recognise you. It tells us the page views, the pages visited, the referring site and the country. It needs no consent, so it runs for everyone.
2. Analytics (off until you allow it)
These help us see which pages people visit and what they click, so we can improve the site.

3. Advertising (off until you allow it)
These let advertising companies measure our ads and show them to people who visited this site. They may link your visit to an account you have with them.

We list the TikTok pixel and the LinkedIn Insight Tag now so you know about them. They’re not on the site until we turn them on, and we update this notice when we do.
What we never send
None of these tools receives anything from the Maalin app. The website has no account, no forms and no health information, so the tools only see that you visited maalin.app and what you clicked. We never build advertising audiences around health conditions, ever: the only audiences are general ones, such as everyone who visited the site, and they last at most 14 months.
How Google Consent Mode works here
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Before you choose, every Google setting is “denied”, and Google’s tags don’t load at all. If you allow Analytics, analytics_storage is granted. If you allow Advertising, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization are granted. If you later reject a category, its setting goes back to “denied”, and we delete the cookies our site can delete.
Our App Store links
The App Store buttons on the site carry an App Store campaign code that says which page and campaign the click came from. Apple reports downloads to us only as totals by campaign. No cookie is involved.
Who receives the data, and where
Google, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn receive the data from the tools above. For visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland, these are Google Ireland Limited, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, TikTok Technology Limited (Ireland) and LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company; elsewhere, their US or local companies. They may move data to the United States and other countries, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) or standard contractual clauses.
For Google Analytics measurement, Google works for us as our processor. For the advertising tools, we and each provider decide together how the data is collected and sent, and each provider then uses it under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare hosts the site and runs Web Analytics as our processor.
Our legal basis for analytics and advertising cookies is your consent. For strictly necessary cookies and Cloudflare Web Analytics, it’s our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure.
Your rights
You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, from Cookie settings. You can also delete cookies in your browser, and use each provider’s own controls: Google’s Ad Settings, Meta’s ad preferences, TikTok’s ad settings and LinkedIn’s advertising settings. Your rights over your personal data are explained in section 13 of our Privacy Policy. Write to company@maalin.app with any question.
Changes
If we add a tool or change what a tool does, we update this notice and ask for your consent again.
